Why we built it
Most broken screen prank sites show the same blurry photo of a cracked phone, stretched across whatever screen you have, surrounded by pop-ups and ads. We wanted a version that actually looks like broken glass on a modern high-resolution display, breaks at the right moment, and respects the people using it.
How it works
Every crack on this site is generated by code rather than copied from a photo. A seeded crack generator models how glass really fails — a crushed impact point, radial cracks that branch and taper, ring cracks between them and shards that catch the light — and draws the result straight to your screen at its native resolution. Because it is generated, the same crack can be rendered for a phone, a 4K monitor or an 8K wallpaper without losing sharpness. The glass-shatter sound is synthesised in your browser too, so no two breaks sound quite the same.
What we care about
- Privacy. The prank runs entirely in your browser. Screenshots you use are never uploaded, and downloads are generated on your own device.
- Safety. Escape always exits and a long-press always reveals an exit button. The prank never locks a device, shows fake security warnings or asks for permissions.
- Honesty. It is a joke, and we encourage people to reveal it quickly. We ask that nobody uses fake cracks for insurance or warranty claims.
- Speed. No sign-up, no app, no heavy pages. Open it and go.
